The fake enchantment of these paintings, strictly rational and, ironically, "sentimentally rational", intends to stress that this form of painting is not an end, but a means for the mind, in the same way that a chair, a table, or a bed are objects for the body. Created starting in 1984, the Untitled series includes the Fragments, painted on board starting in 1991, and the Sinopias, created on canvas starting in 2002. The Fragments evoke the history of a great fresco that time has destroyed, leaving behind fragments here and there.
